Final Exam and other stuff

Hi everyone!

Here's the plan for the next 3 weeks:

Week of January 12 (now)
Complete the assignments listed below, which the sub should be sharing with you. Turn them in by Tuesday, January 20. I'll stop by next week to collect and grade them. YES, they WILL count towards your final grade. YES, the material on these assignments (The Progressive Era) will be covered on the final exam.

  1. Cornell Notes, Chapter 9 Sec 1, 2 and 3 of The Americans
  2. Slide Notes: The Progressive Era (see Student Handout packet)
  3. Read the play “America’s Crusading Journalists” and perform as a class (assign roles and read from the front of the room).

Week of January 20

Review for Final Exam. Sub should distribute Final Exam Review Sheet next Tuesday, you will have all of next week to create Review Notes.

Week of January 26

Final Exam! I'll post more specific details later, but it will be multiple choice (Scantron, NOT justified multiple choice like our previous exams) and count for approximately 75 points.

Gilded Age exams

Gilded Age tests will also count towards your final grade...by themselves, they will not result in anyone failing the class. However, if you already were failing the class, have not turned in your notebook, etc, a low test grade obviously will not raise your grade.

I will try to drop these off next week with the sub. Obviously you will not be able to rewrite them, so don't worry about it! Instead, focus on studying for the final exam.

Surprise for 2009!

Our daugher, Suchitra "Suchi" Mehta Doshi was born 5 weeks early this past Wednesday, January 7 at 8:01pm. She weighed in at 5 lbs 9 oz, and 19 inches long. Mom, Dad and baby are home now and doing fine...except Ms. Doshi won't be coming to school anytime soon!

Feel free to email me at ms_doshi@yahoo.com. I'll be in touch here on the blog regarding end-of-semester assignments/grades.
